Can you believe it, Christmas is over! Wow, how fast was that???
Hey crafters, Nicole here and I feel like I was just starting my Christmas cards and crafting. Well, now that the presents are unwrapped we are ready to close out 2016 and bring in the New Year! So let’s bring in the New Year with a festive Holiday décor project. This 2017 centerpiece would look amazing on the table for a dinner party. Or perhaps surround by yummy party food at a kitchen party. It takes no time to create and it’s a real show stopper. Check out my step by step photo’s.
I decided on some Mini Paper Rosettes for the 2017 numbers. These rosettes are simple to make and easily cut through the Vagabond. I like to use hot glue to attach my paper rosettes. It’s the glue for impatient crafters, like me! I punched out some matching paper to glued on the back. Gold shiny paper and black Core Distress Paper is a striking New Years combo.
I cut 2017 using Alphanumeric Marquee and some Dimensional Stars with some scrap gold paper. Using the Magnetic Platform is a must for keeping these Thinlits from moving around. When folding the score lines on the Dimensional Stars I like to use a bone folder for a perfect crease. I cut 2 large stars and 4 small stars in total.
With all the pieces die cut and ready it’s the fun part, assemble time! I got a good blister from the hot glue so be careful! To attach the 2017 Alphanumeric Marquee numbers a liquid glue is perfect. When the Mini Paper Rosettes are assembled, attach them to the tinsel garland. It’s all about the bling! I hammered a small hole through the top of this jumbo chocolate treat to anchor the wood skewers and this cute 2017 banner.
I attached the large Dimensional Star to the top of the wooden skewer. Then I wrapped some tinsel garland the wood to hide it.
I attached the small Dimensional Stars to the top of each Mini Rosette for added pop.
The gold paper with black accents is stunning together.
This “Bring in the New Year” centerpiece is quick to assemble. The Mini Paper Rosettes and Dimensional Stars are scored, making them quick to assemble. Add some tinsel garland and these jumbo chocolate treats and you have a centerpiece to celebrate! Something this pretty doesn’t have to be hard to create and my dies make it so fast and easy.
Well this is my last post for Sizzix in 2016. I’ll see you in 2017 with more fun projects!
Wishing you a very Happy New Year Crafters!
