Hello, Catherine Scanlon back with another holiday ornament that is sure to please that winter enthusiast in your life!
This little set of skates is the sweetest in person, and they look so real until you hold them in the palm of your hand and realize they are really made of wool!
To make these skates I cut 2 of each of the Skates from Cream Wool Felt using the Sizzix Tim Holtz Skates Bigz Die (658766) and 1 set of each of the skates using a white chipboard. I really wanted them to look realistic, so I cut the blades off of both sets of the felt skates and cut the top of boots off of the chipboard I would use for the blades. To get the blades to look like they were metal I brushed 2 coats of Silver Ink over them. Then I layered the three together and stitched them with my sewing machine.
For the buttons I stitched tiny pearls in place and added some laces using embroidery floss and they were done! Super cute, and for that skater in your life a perfect holiday ornament or package decoration they can hang on the tree!
Supplies I used for this project: Sizzix Tim Holtz Skates Bigz Die (658766), Cream Wool Felt, White Chipboard, Sewing Machine, Tiny Pearl Beads, Cream Embroidery Floss, Silver Alcohol Ink, Craft Glue.
Thanks for joining me today, enjoy your week!
