Handmade Holidays Blog Hop

Welcome to the first Sizzix project for the Handmade Holidays Blog Hop! We're joining in with local California blogger Hydrangea Hippo to bring you a ton of gift ideas that you can make this holiday season for all your loved ones. Handmade gifts from the heart are always a great way to get in the spirit of giving. Our first project is handmade by Sizzix Design Team member Michelle Stewart from Michelle's Party Plan-It.

Hello fellow crafters! I'm excited to share my Sizzix Handmade project for the Handmade Holiday's Blog Hop.  Antlers in gold, silver and black are on trend this year, so I decided to create a Glitzy Reindeer Candle Holder,  using the Sizzix Big Shot and Reindeer w/ Antlers Sizzix Bigz Die by BasicGrey.

This project can be made with any paper, candle, and glass vase. I chose a tall vase from the dollar store, a glittery tri-colored tall pillar candle and gold, black and silver card stock. You will also need gold glitter and glossy Mod Podge.

Start by making a sandwich with a Cutting Pad, Reindeer w/ Antlers Bigz die, 3 pieces of glitter card stock then the second cutting pad. Pass through the Sizzix Big Shot.

You will then have 3 reindeer die cuts to wrap around the glass.

With a craft paint brush, brush a thick layer of Mod Podge on the back side of each die cut.

Place each Reindeer die cut around the glass, overlapping the antlers.

Then brush on a very thick layer of Mod Podge over the entire glass, in long vertical brush strokes.  The glossy Mod Podge will dry and give the vase an etched look.

Let dry.

Once dry, lightly brush Mod Podge on the rim of the glass.  Shake gold glitter on a paper plate then place the rim on the glitter.  Spin to cover the rim with glitter evenly.

And that's it!  A simple, on trend candle holder that is perfect for a hostess gift during the Holiday Season!

Happy Crafting!
