Say Hello With This Sweet Succulent Card!

Succulent-hello9

Hello, Crafty Friends! Mitsyana Wright here, from Up On Tippy Toes. I 'm so happy to be a Guest Designer here again on the Sizzix Blog!

Today, I will be sharing this beautiful and serene succulent card. I had the privilege of using amazing products from Lynda Kanase's brand new Succulent Serenity collection. I first spied them at Creativation 2017 in Phoenix this past January and I fell head-over-heels in love. Lynda's entire collection was absolutely beautiful! I anxiously waited for its release. Well, the wait is over and they're here!!

For the card image, I used stamps from Lynda's Succulent Birdcage stamp and die set. I stamped the image using black VersaFine Onyx Black Archival ink onto watercolor paper. Then colored the image in using my Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush.

I used lots of greens and purples to color in all the succulents. Then watercolored the background with and around the cage with a bright yet soft blue. Once my image was done drying I stamped the word "hello" under the cage with a black ink.

I used Lynda Kanase's Mini Photo Banner to die cut out my image.

I also used the leaves from the Mini Phot Banner set to die-cut out several small leaf stems (10 leaves total). Then shaded them using my markers.

I wrapped hemp twine around the top of the cut-out banner using the pre-cut holes as anchoring points. Then tied into a multi-loop bow.

I used my Xyron Mega Runner to adhere the little photo banner onto a 4"x 5.25" piece of patterned paper from Lynda's new Succulent Serenity Cardstock Pad the again onto a standard A2 (4.25x 5.5"- folded)  sized card base.

I created a spray with the die cut leaves, spreading them out under the bow and glue in the place.

For a final touch, and to add to the peaceful zen feeling of this card, I die cut a butterfly from Tim Holtz's Mini Detailed Butterflies dies. I used a glue pen to adhere the layers together then added shading to the wings with more markers.

And here is my finished card...

I love how mush dimension is on this card and I love how soothing these colors are.

I really hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial! I really enjoyed creating it!

Until next time...

Happy Crafting!!
