The Sizzix Challenge Halloween | Brick Pumpkin Card by Mou Saha

Hi everyone, Mou here with a fun little Halloween card for the Sizzix Challenge Halloween.

I love Halloween for its colors, costumes, and candies. They all spell fun to me. So, I combined some of my favorite dies by Sizzix with my Mixed Media stash to create this card. Let me tell you how.

First, lay out the Sizzix Movers & Shapers Mini Scary Jack-o-Lantern Set of magnetic dies on the Base Tray. Place 8.5" x 6" kraft card stock over the die arrangement so that you only die cut the front part of a card. Place the whole thing between two standard cutting pads and run it through the Sizzix Big Shot machine.

Fold the card in half. Open it up. Rub Tangerine Gelato color  on the card front around the die cut Jack-o-Lantern and blend it with wet brush. Let dry.

Place a 3" x 6" piece of kraft card stock on the Iron Gate On the Edge die blade side facing up. Put the set up between two On the Edge Cutting Pads and run the sandwich through the Sizzix Big Shot machine. Color the die cut using Black Licorice Gelato color blended with wet brush. Let dry.

Place a 2.5" x 12" strip of cards tock on  the Brick Wall Decorative Strip die facing up. Place the set up between two Decorative Strip Cutting Pads on an Extended Multipurpose Platform open to tab 2. Pass the whole sandwich through the Big Shot machine. Pop out the bricks from the strip. Use the die cut negative as stencil. Lay the strip over the card front and apply Whipped Spackle texture paste with palette knife. This creates a neat brick wall look on the card. Let the paste dry.

Apply adhesive to the back of the Iron Gate edge strip and attach it near the base of the card. Trim off any excess.

Trace the Jack-o-Lantern inside the card and color it with Iced Coffee Gelato color.

Stamp 'Happy Halloween' with Archival Jet Black ink on cream card stock. Cut it out into a strip. Attach to the inside of the card so you can see it through the mouth opening of the Jack-o-Lantern.

Dilute Black Licorice Gelato color with water and splatter it on the card with paintbrush to finish.
