Hi everyone, Merry Christmas to you all! Mou here with today’s Sizzix die cutting inspiration!
Sometimes I scratch my head when it comes to stocking stuffers. The kids make elaborate lists of the bigger things they want for themselves and to give as gifts and I know exactly what they want. But when it comes to the little surprises, I wonder what to put in those stockings. So, this year, I decided to put chocolates (they'd love that!) inside these mini Milk Cartons and tied them off with some twine and jingle bells. They came together pretty quickly. This Milk Carton die is so versatile that you can use it to for treats, stocking stuffers, or party favors for any celebration.
These are the supplies I used:
Others: Watercolor paper, Gelatos, Stamp, Brush markers, Pen, Twine, Jingle bells, Adhesive, hole punch, paint brush, sand paper, paper towel
Let me walk you through the steps.
Color the pieces with Gelatos. I used Metallic Mint, Metallic Melon, and Cherry. Blend the colors with wet paint brush.
While the pieces are still wet, emboss the colored sides of the die cut Milk Cartons using Nordic Sweater & Cross Stitch embossing folders. You'll need to emboss in sections as the die cut Milk Cartons are bigger than the embossing folders. Pick an embossing folder design of your choice to suit your theme. And of course, depending on how many you need to make, you could pick pretty patterned papers to save some time.
After the pieces dry thoroughly, use a piece of sand paper and gently sand the surface to reveal the white paper underneath. Wipe off dust with paper towel.
Add more colors with Gelatos if you wish.
NOTE: As a variation, you could staple the Milk Cartons close, or use ribbon through the holes, or even wrap a themed sticker at the top to suit any occasion.
Stamp sentiments, cut them out and attach to the Milk Cartons. For this step, you could save time by using stickers. And your stocking stuffers are ready!
Hope you liked today's inspiration and try this die out for Valentine's Day and more!
