Hi it’s Jessica from Everyday Party Magazine with a fun Sizzix Inspiration project!
As soon as one holiday is finished in our house, we are ready to move on to the next! Generally, I prefer to make most of our holiday decor. Partially because I get bored with it quickly, but, also because the kids enjoy helping me decorate. They love being able to help create our decorations!
As soon as I saw the Sizzix Bigz L Die Basket, and Sizzix Bigz Die Easter Elements, I knew I wanted to make Easter baskets with them! I used double sided patterned card stock for them, and they turned out ADORABLE.
To use the basket in your Sizzix Big Shot layer one Standard Cutting Pad in the Big Shot machine, your die with the cutting side up, your paper and then the Standard Premium Crease Pad. To use the bunny and butterfly dies, use the same sandwich except replace the Standard Premium Crease Pad with another Standard Cutting Pad.
I have made a few of these easter baskets for our neighbors and the boys’ teachers. I made the bunny and butterfly double sided, and stuck them to a bamboo skewer. To help them stand up in the basket, I hot glued half a wine bottle cork to the bottom of the basket and then stuck the skewer into the cork. I added an extra butterfly to the front of the butterfly on the skewer to make the wings look like they were fluttering.
I filled the baskets with Jelly Belly Jelly Beans, and small treats.
I hope I have inspired you to create something fun!
