Rustic Elegant Bird Heart Necklace
Project #12959

And you thought Ink-its Letterpress Plates only transformed cards? Think again! Follow the directions below and find out how these incredible ink-debossed impressions add elegance to jewelry, too!

Artist: Beth Reames, Sizzix

Themes: Animals, Basic Shapes, Love, People & Clothing

Other Supplies: Beads, Buttons, Chain, Jump Rings, Mat Board, Pigment Ink, Pliers, Watermark Ink

Die-cut a large Primitive Heart from white mat board. Apply clear watermark ink to bird corner of the Rustic Elegant Flowers letterpress plate. Apply purple pigment ink to bird corner of the same letterpress plate, carefully place the Heart on top of the plate and deboss using your Big Shot, BIGkick or Vagabond machine. Remove the Heart and set aside to dry. Once dry, punch holes in the Heart and add a length of chain with jump rings to form a necklace. Embellish with beads and buttons.

If using regular cardstock with the Ink-its letterpress plate and not getting the impression you desire, place a thin piece of craft foam between the top cutting pad and your paper. Use pigment ink layered over clear watermark ink and medium weight (or heavier) watercolor paper - 100 lbs or more - for best results.
