Monkey Around Burp Cloth

It’s easy to create cute baby accessories for your little one or to give as a gift. Follow the simple instructions to personalize a store-bought burp cloth or sew one using the pattern described below.

Cut (1) Monkey head
5" square Tan print Iron Heat 'n' Bond fusible adhesive
Cut (1) Monkey face
4" square Black print Iron Heat 'n' Bond fusible adhesive
Cut (1) set of eyes, nose and mouth
2" square Pink print Iron Heat 'n' Bond fusible adhesive
Cut (1) set of ears
1 packageHeat 'n' Bond lightweight fusible adhesive
1/4 yd Green flannel print Cut (2) 9" x 20" rectangles

Notes

  • Finished Size: 8 1/2" x 19 1/2"
  • All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.

Assembly

  1. Use a 9" circle (or any large circle) to create a template. Layer the two green flannel rectangles together, place template on edges and round off the corners.
  2. Using one rectangle, iron on Monkey placing in the center near the short end of the rectangle.
  3. Satin stitch around Monkey shapes.
  4. Place the rectangles right sides together and sew leaving a 4" opening.
  5. Turn inside out, press and stitch opening closed to form a burp cloth.
