Embossed Butterfly Necklace

Project #13007

Nothing beats a butterfly for beauty. A necklace like this offers plenty of eye-catching extras for the elegant crowd. To capture your own unique version, just follow the directions below.

Other Supplies: Chipboard, Craft Metal, Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Hole Punch, Jewelry Findings (Bail, Chain, Head Pins, Jump Rings, Pearl Beads), Pigment Ink

Die-cut a Ring out of chipboard. Punch a hole in the Ring. Apply pigment ink to one side of the Ring. Sprinkle with embossing powder. Tap excess powder back into container. Using a heat tool, melt the powder to reveal the shiny surface, being careful not to fill in the punched hole. Repeat heat embossing on opposite side of Ring. Feed a larger jump ring through the hole in the Ring and attach to a chain to form a necklace. Attach a larger jump ring to the Ring and attach lengths of chain anchored by pearls strung on head pins. Die-cut a Butterfly out of craft metal and emboss using the Swirly Vine embossing folder. Slightly bend wings upward to show dimension. Punch a hole in the Butterfly and attach a bail. Attach the bail to the jump ring at the top of the Ring. Also attach pearls strung on head pins.
