Notes:
- Finished Size: 39" x 39"
- All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
- Fat 1/8 = approximately 9" x 22"
- * = Adhere fusible adhesive to back of fabric before die-cutting the shapes.
Piecing the Quilt:
- Place an 8" white Circle on top of a 10" bubbles Square. Place a Duck in the center of the Circle.
- When satisfied with the placement, heat fuse in place with an iron and stitch around the shapes as desired.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make one more Duck block.
- Using the quilt image as a guide, lay out the quilt top in rows, 4 blocks across by 4 down.
- Row 1: sew a 5" yellow dots Square, a 5" x 10" stars Rectangle, a 5" x 10" bubbles Rectangle and a yellow dot 5" Square together.
- Row 2: sew a 5" x 10" ducks with umbrellas Rectangle print, a Duck block, a 10" ducks in water Square and a 5" x 10" umbrellas print Rectangle.
- Row 3: sew a 5" x 10" umbrellas print Rectangle print, a 10" ducks in water Square, a Duck block and a 5" x 10" ducks with umbrellas Rectangle.
- Row 4: sew a 5" yellow dots Square, a 5" x 10" bubbles Rectangle, a 5" x 10" stars Rectangle and a yellow dots 5" Square together.
- Sew the rows together.
- Sew the 1 1/2" orange border Strips to the sides of the quilt center first, then sew the top and bottom border Strips. Sew the 1 1/2" blue border Strips to the quilt in the same manner.
- Sew the 5" umbrellas print border Strips to the sides of the quilt. Sew a 5" ducks in water Square to each end of two remaining 5" Strips to form the top and bottom borders. Sew the top and bottom border Strips to the quilt.
Finishing:
- Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine, as desired.
- Sew binding strips together to form one long strip. Fold wrong sides together, lengthwise, and press.
- With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
