Fabric Requirements:

Yardage Fabric Cutting Instructions
1/4 yd Music print Cut (1) 6 1/2" x 12 1/2"
Fat 1/4 Red print Cut (2) 1" x 12 1/2"
Cut (1) Maple Leaf*
1/2 yd Red letter print Cut (2) 4 1/2" x 12 1/2"
Cut (1) 12 1/2" x 15 1/2" for the backing
14" x 18" Low-loft batting
6" x 6" Lightweight fusible adhesive
1 12" x 15" Pillow form


  • Finished Size: 12" x 15"
  • All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
  • Fat 1/4 = approximately 18" x 21"
  • * = Adhere fusible adhesive to back of fabric before die-cutting the shapes.

Piecing the Project:

  1. Stitch the red letter, red print and music print fabrics together to create the front of pillow as shown in the image above.
  2. Place the Maple Leaf in the middle of music print and heat fuse in place with an iron.


  1. Layer the batting and pillow top. Quilt by hand or machine, as desired.
  2. Layer the pillow top and pillow back, right sides together. Pin and sew with 1/2" seam allowance, leaving an opening approximately 6" long to insert pillow form.
  3. Clip excess fabric in the corners on the diagonal. Turn right-side out, insert the pillow form and whipstitch closed.
