Spiral Lollipops Table Runner

Fabric Requirements:

Notes:

• Finished Size: 18 1/2" x 44 1/2"
• All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
• * = Adhere fusible adhesive to back of fabric before die-cutting the shapes.
• WOF = width of fabric

Assembling the Background:

1. Sew a 2 1/2" x 40 1/2" green Strip to each of the long sides of the white fabric. Press.
2. Sew a 2 1/2" x 18 1/2" green Strip to the remaining two sides. Press.

Adding the Lollipops:

1. Separate the Spirals into two piles, for the larger outside Spiral and the smaller inside Spiral.
2. Pair one large and one small Spiral and make sure there is contrast between the two.
3. Using the photo of the table runner, arrange the "lollipops" on the runner. Peel the fusible adhesive paper backing off the large and small Spiral pairs. Starting in the center and working to the outside place the Spirals on the background. This might take a little time to get each one placed correctly. Insert the 1/2" brown stems and trim to the correct length.
4. To make the small trees, cut the large and small Spirals approximately 1 complete circle from the center. Round off the cut ends to match the center.
5. After all the lollipop trees are arranged and have brown trunks, heat fuse everything in place.

Finishing:

1. Sew the two 27" x 21" pieces of backing fabric together along the 21" edge. Press.
2. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine, making sure the trees and trunks are securely quilted in place.
3. Sew binding strips together to form one long strip. Fold wrong sides together lengthwise and press.
4. With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
