- Begin by sewing one green 2 1/2" Square to one black 2 1/2" Square. Repeat until they are all sewn into pairs.
- Iron toward the black.

Piecing the Quarter-Square Triangle Block:
- For the layout of the block (Diagram 2).
- Sew each black-and-white 2 1/2" H x 4 1/2" W Triangle to a solid black 2 1/2" H x 4 1/2" W Triangle. Press toward the black.
- Sew each solid green 2 1/2" H x 4 1/2" W Triangle to a solid black 2 1/2" H x 4 1/2" W Triangle. Press toward the black.
- Sew together both halves, creating a 4 1/2" quarter-square unit.

Piecing the Isosceles Triangle Block:
- Sew one black Right Triangle to each side of a green Isosceles Triangle to form a triangle-in-a-square block (Diagram 3).

Piecing the Drunkard's Path Block:
- Match a Background Arch with a Quarter Circle. Fold both pieces in half along the curved edge to find the center. Finger press. Match the curves at the center and the ends. Sew the curved seam at a scant 1/4", and press toward the Arch. This will make a 4 1/2" square (Diagram 4).
- Make 48 Drunkard's Path blocks. Set aside.
Piecing the Half-Square Triangle Block:
- Sew a pair of black-and-white print and solid black Half-Square Triangles, right sides together, along the diagonal seam to form a square. Press toward the black (Diagram 5).
- Make 96 squares. Set aside.
Piecing the Half-Square Triangle with a Square Block:
- Sew a solid green 2 1/2" Square to a solid black 2 1/2" Half-Square Triangle, right sides together, to each side of the Square, creating a large triangle (Diagram 6).
- Sew the unit to a solid green 4 1/2" Half-Square Triangle.
- Make 24.
- Sew a solid black 2 1/2" Square to a solid green 2 1/2" Half-Square Triangle, right sides together, to each side of the Square, creating a large triangle (Diagram 7).
- Sew the unit to a solid green 4 1/2" Half-Square Triangle.
- Make 24. Set aside.
Piecing the Quilt Top:
- To assemble the block, see Diagram 6. Press.
- Make 12 blocks.
- Lay out the blocks, three across by four down.
- Sew the horizontal rows together.
- Sew the vertical rows together.
- Press.
Finishing:
- Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine as desired.
- Sew binding Strips together to form one long Strip. Fold wrong sides together lengthwise, and press.
