Hi everyone! It's Melanie here from the QSA Team at Sizzix Headquarters with a quick, fun project you can make in no time at all but has a unique, handmade look! As kids start heading back to school, they are looking for items that make their school supplies stand out from the crowd, and the Sizzix Bigz™ L Box Pouch Die by Sew Sweetness is just the thing!
This Box Pouch goes together so quickly that picking out just the right fabric might take you longer than the time it takes to sew it together. This project is perfect to complete in an afternoon, and you may even have your kids help so that they are part of back-to-school crafting. Have fun creating this unique Box Pouch for whatever it will hold!
Once you have die-cut all the pieces and ironed on the fusible interfacing, it is time to start sewing. I chose to use a coordinating thread color when topstitching the zipper, but this can also be a great opportunity to add more color to the project.
By starting a 1/2" in when sewing the zipper together, it is very beneficial when later sewing the ends together. I couldn't imagine trying to make it happen without leaving the 1/2" clearance on both sides.
This was such a fun and easy project, I am not entirely sure why I only made just one… I am off to make a whole bunch of Box Pouches!
Quilt happy!
