Hey friends! Adrianne here with you today to share some of the new Sizzix dies coming your way from Stephanie Barnard! My daughter recently celebrated a birthday, and we owe some generous friends and family some thank you cards.
Since my daughter LOVES to die cut and glue, we used the brand new dies to design a bright and happy card! We added rainbows to the front, and dragonflies to the inside in a purple and aqua color scheme. A few clear stamps provided the finishing touches!
This is a project where the brush and foam pad comes in handy. The Dragonfly and Umbrellas Triplits sets are beautiful ways to layer your designs, but that often means that there are some small pieces to remove. We added these details to the Sizzix Framelits Bubbly Flip-it Card, which is a fun card for showcasing both the inside and the front of your design at the same time!
When using the Framelits and Triplits, you'll do much better with it if you begin with the Magnetic Platform. Place one acrylic Cutting Pad on top of the platform, arrange your paper, and then set your dies on top, face down. The Magnetic Platform will hold your dies in place so that you can use up all those scraps of coordinating paper that (if you're like me) you always save in case they come in handy. I created today's card completely out of scraps, which always makes me proud!
Place the second acrylic Cutting Pad on top to complete your Sizzix sandwich, and roll it through your Big Shot machine!
Repeat as many times as necessary until you've die cut all the shapes and layers you want.
You'll recall I mentioned the Die Brush & Foam Pad - this is where the magic happens. Instead of trying to poke out all the tiny cutouts, you can just put your die cut shape on the foam, and roll over it with your brush. The tiny pieces of paper cling to the foam, and the brush separates them from the main part of your design - making short work of those gorgeous details.
Sizzix Triplits give you LOTS of layering options, as you can see with these sweet dragonflies! Combining different bases and different colors gives you lots of different coordinated looks.
This cute rainbow on the front comes in the Sizzix Triplits Umbrellas set (which will be adorable for spring, or for a baby shower!!) but just didn't seem quite right to say thank you - not the way a colorful rainbow does. The finished things off with a few of Stephanie Barnard's Thanks Clear Stamps.
You card-makers already know - just layering a few of your favorite cheerful shapes with great coordinating colors makes up a simple but beautiful card. And with my daughter cranking out die cut shapes, me doing some stamping, and both of us gluing the die cut embellishments on, we made short work of a great set of cards!
Thanks for joining me today, I'll see you guys again soon!
