Bundle Up With This DIY Rag Quilt

Bundle Up With This DIY Rag Quilt

Even Florida is COLD! The crisp in the air brings about memories of snuggles and a craving for Hot Cocoa. Melanie here from the QSA Team at Sizzix, I have recently had the pleasure of sewing together one very vibrant Rag Quilt. The beautiful flannel collection from Sarah J. with Marcus Fabrics was just begging to be put on display, I found the 6” Finished Rag Quilt die to be just the solution.

I looked forward to this Rag Quilt knowing that I wouldn’t have to actually “rag” this quilt and that once it was sewed together it would be ready for snuggles.

All I had to do was I cut 64 sets of squares and then I was ready to sew.

Having it laid out on a design wall helped when it took me a couple of afternoons of sewing to put this together. I did choose to sew the “X” thru the center of each block even though I may not have needed to.

This was such a fun and effortless project! And now I am starting to wonder… If I start now, how many can I make for Christmas next year?! But first I am going to enjoy this one!

What fun. My kids were complaining about how cold Florida was. The left Wyoming, where we live to go to warmer climates. A quilt like this would be a treat! How do I find out about the fabric and jewelry dies? Thanks!

I see that you sewed the “X” on each set...how did you sew them together to get the finished quilt?
