Hey there! Melissa here today with a little Fall Sizzix Inspiration for you! As a Midwest gal with brutal winters & short summers, I have to admit that Fall is my favorite season of all. It comes at the perfect time when I need a little break from the summer heat, but am not quite ready for those wintery snow-covered roads (heck, I'm never ready for those). So it's no surprise that Fall is also my favorite season to craft for! I swear I could make Halloween projects & recipes all year round and I'd never get sick of it.
So when the Halloween candy hit the store, I was like a kid in a candy store. Quite literally, except it was more of a candy aisle. I used the Sizzix Bigz XL Die Box #3 then cut out the giant candy corn with scissors. I die cut the two side panels using orange paper, and then the two top & bottom panels with both white & blue. To create the sandwich, I layered a Extended Cutting Pad, the Box Bigz XL die, the paper, and then one Extended Crease Pad on top.
I then layered a white, orange, and yellow piece of paper and cut out a candy corn shape with scissors. I trimmed down the orange & yellow pieces to create the layers and used double sided tape to adhere them together. The last step of the candy corn is to use an Exacto knife to cut out a window. Once I created the window, I opened the box, layered on the candy corn, and then cut the same window out of the box lid. Once the window was created, I attached a piece of plastic to the inside of the box lid to create the clear, window effect.
Fill it with candy and you have yourself a fun treat box that can house all those Fall goodies! And if you are looking to make it even easier, you can omit the clear window and just fill the box with cookies or bars!
Happy crafting! - Melissa
