DIY Cardmaking: So Happy You Roll With Me Sushi Card!

Hello Crafters, it’s Aida from Life and Paper Crafting. We are into December, and it seems this year just galloped past! While Christmas crafting is taking center stage for most of us, today I’d like to feature the cutest die set from the Everyday Love collection: The Sushi Roll Framelits Die Set.

This set brought me a huge smile—who wouldn’t love the adorable happy sushi shapes and designs? “So happy you Roll with me” is just so clever!

I used watercolors to add color to the stamped images. If you prefer, you can use color pencils, inks or brush pens.

Instructions:

I stamped the Sushi shapes with black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This gives the shapes more definition and slight texture. It’s perfectly fine just stamping the images without embossing them, just make sure you use a good waterproof ink.

Next, match the Sushi shapes with the accompanying dies and run through your Big Shot Foldaway Machine using the correct platform sandwich.

I’ve chosen two Circle shapes from the Framelits Circle set: the larger circle for the white cardstock and the smaller circle for the patterned cardstock. The pieces all sit on a background patterned cardstock of 4" x 5" 1/4 inches.

This is how it looks. Pop up the smaller center circle and the Sushi on 3-D foam dots, then arrange them as you like.

I chose the Circles because it looks like the Sushi are on a round plate.

To stop the lowest Sushi from looking as if it’s “floating,” I tied twine to provide a resting ledge. Complete the card by mounting on to a kraft cardstock base.

And that's it—easy!

This is such a happy card to make, and it’s sure to deliver a smile to the person receiving it. Thank you for following along. Come back soon for more ideas by the talented designers of Sizzix.
