Hello friends it Richele here with a project using the Dimensional Cutting pad. Depending on how you position the Dimensional cutting pad you can create different effects like dimensional wings on a butterfly, die cutting so you can tuck your card behind an image or even a pop up card to name a few. So many clever ways to use die cutting!

  • Kraft-Stock (Classic)

  • Archival Ink
  • Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs)
  • Distress Markers
  • Distress Sprayer
  • Detail Waterbrush
  • Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • Watercolor Cardstock
  • Heat Tool

Stampers Anonymous:

  • CMS294  Fluter Stamp Set

  • Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat

  • Low Tack Tape

Let's get started!

Cut Watercolor Cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/5", this will be our card base. Position the shadow portion of Thanks from the Shadow Script #2 Thinlits Die Set about 1/2" from the bottom of the card and tape down with low tack tape.

Position the Dimensional Cutting Pad so the grove is towards the bottom of the letters and die cut through the Vagabond 2. Tip: If you position the Dimensional Pad too far down it will completely cut out the word. See Tim's video for great tips on using the Dimensional Cutting Pad.

Score and fold card in half, cut about 1/2" off the front of the card so it will tuck behind the word thanks.

Die cut Wildflowers from Watercolor Cardstock. TIP: Before die cutting the flowers add Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to your Cardstock and gluing them to the card will be a breeze. (You can check out Tim's DID YOU KNOW video on Funky Florals here.)

Color with Distress Markers, blend colors with Waterbrush and dry with a heat tool.

Add colors as desired drying between layers.

Ink the edges with Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.

Apply Distress Oxide Ink and/or Distress Ink to your mat and spritz with water until ringlets form.

Drag the front of the card through the ink.

Dry with a heat tool.

Love the contrast of the background against the white letters.

Stamp one of the Butterflies from the Stampers Anonymous Flutter stamp set with Archival Ink, color with Distress Markers, blending color with Waterbrush and dry with a heat tool.

Die cut the Butterfly wings by adding a Mini Cutting pad to the inside of the card as shown.

Position the matching Flutter Thinlits die over the stamped image and tape with low tack tape. Add the Dimensional Cutting Pad with the groove over the body and die cut the wings.

Pull the wings up to create dimension.

Apply Distress Ink to the mat, water down with water, pick up ink with the Waterbrush, flick on to the card front making sure not to get ink on the Thanks and dry with a heat tool.

Adhere the Wildflowers to the card front and the thin Thanks centered over the shadow.

Apply a thin strip about 1/4" wide of colored cardstock at the bottom of the card.

I love how simple it is to add dimension to any project just by using the Dimensional cutting pad.

How will you use the Dimensional Cutting Pad?

Thanks so much for stopping by.
