Hi, friends! Bethany here with you today to share an easy-to-make pair of beautiful Embossed Rose Earrings. I really love to make jewelry, but I'm not a fan of projects that take a long time to complete or a lot of money to create. You can make these inexpensive earrings quickly in a few easy steps using Vintaj DecoEmboss dies and blanks and a wooden doming block. I know that last supply may sound intimidating, but trust me, it's not at all.
I fell in love with the Sizzix Vintaj DecoEmboss Nouveau Roses die when looking for new dies to add to my collection, and I knew it would be perfect to create a pair of beautiful earrings. You can find a detailed supply list at the bottom of this post.
The first step to creating the earrings is to place two Vintaj blanks inside the DecoEmboss folder. I love that you can choose what part of the design you want to use each time you're creating with the die. Close the folder and sandwich it between two Standard Cutting Pads. Place in on the Solo Platform and Shim and roll it through your Sizzix Vintaj BIGKick.
Next it's time to dome the blanks. Doming is just a fancy way of saying that you're going to make the flat blanks curved. To dome the blanks, place one of the blanks face down in one of the depressions in the doming block. Use a hammer to lightly tap the top of the doming punch (it comes with the doming block) as you move it over the surface of the back of the blank. I normally start in one of the shallow depressions and then move onto a deeper depression to gradually create a more pronounced dome shape.
Next, buff the embossed surface with the Vintaj Reliefing Block to highlight the beautiful design.
To complete your earrings, use pliers to open the loop on one of the Vintaj ear wires. Thread the blank onto the opened ear wire, making sure that your design is facing the correct way. Then simply use the pliers to close the loop. Repeat for the other blank and ear wire to complete your earrings.
And just like that, you'll have created a beautiful pair of earrings. You can keep them to wear yourself or gift them to a friend who will immediately fall in love with them and have no idea how inexpensively you were able to create them. (Shhhh! Don't tell!)
Thanks for hanging out with me today for this beautiful, inexpensive Sizzix project!
