Sizzix Inspiration | Fabric Flower Hair Clip by Monika Baptista

Fabric Flower Hair Clip

Hello, Friends! It's Monika here from Life With Lovebugs. There are a few different projects in my house that are always ongoing, one of them is my daughter's hair bow collection. No matter how many I make, or how many different bows I come up with she always wants more! So today I'm going to share with you the latest Fabric Flower Hair Clip that I've made for her.

This hair clip is a flower that I made using organza fabric. It's a stiff fabric so it will hold the flower shape well and it is available is so many colors. I used my Sizzix Big Shot and the Sizzix Bigz Die Flower #3 by Echo Park, along with a set of standard size Cutting Pads. To make this flower you will need (6) large flowers, (4) medium flowers, and (4) small flowers. I use three different colors, but you can certainly use more or less if you like.

For the bottom layer, I folded each of the large flowers in half, then in half again and sewed them to a small felt circle, about the size of a quarter. I like to use embroidery thread because it holds better than standard sewing thread.

For the next layer I folded the medium size flowers the same way and sewed them on top of the bottom layer, and then repeated with the small flowers.

Next, I took a circle rhinestone sticker and glued it to the center of the flower using hot glue.

Lastly, I hot glued an alligator clip to the felt circle. Now, if you don't like to line your hair clips like me, be sure to have the clip open when you glue it down and then slip another felt circle on top to seal the glue. Otherwise you will glue your clip together. I find that using the felt circle inside the clip will hold my daughter's fine hair better.

These flowers are easy to make and can be customized for holidays, and are also fun to make for friends in your school colors. I hope you enjoyed today’s craft, be sure to stop by my blog Life With Lovebugs for recipes, crafts, healthy living posts and more. I'll see you next time!

The hair clips shown here are very beautiful. The way you have shown here to make it is also very easy understandable. I usually buy clips ready-made clips, but I'm going to try this. Thank you for sharing this information.
