Hello! Leica here with you today with some fall inspiration. I Love Love Love Fall! It is my absolute favourite time of year!
Let's create a decorative piece for your entrance way or table, anything! It's great for Thanksgiving or just in general for the holidays! Start by cutting out as many leaves in different colours and then emboss them. The dies I used to create my leaves are Sizzix Bigz Die - Tattered Leaves & Sizzix Bigz Die - Flowers & Leaf. Once they are embossed, I ink them to make the designs pop. Need some ideas on which embossing folders to use? These are my favourite:
That may seem like a lot of folders, HOWEVER, the more you use, each leaf becomes unique.
This is something to think about. When most people die cut their images, they throw the leftover parts away. I NEVER do until I am sure I won't use them. Look closely at this picture, here I used the negative and cut around it to make a unique look for the leaves. So you will see I have mixed and matched the positive and negative parts of cutting out this leaf. Try it!
You can see that by using a brown ink around the edges, it gives a little more definition to each leaf.
When I assembled the piece, I kept in mind to mix and match my most favourite ones at the top. This is where it will catch everyone's eye first since it is sitting on my front steps.
I LOVED how it started taking shape when I cascaded the leaves down the side. SO much fun!!!! If this was on my table, I would sprinkle a few loose ones around the table. Maybe even use them to create name tags.
Thanks for checking out my fall arrangement!
