Hi there, it's Laura from Make Life Lovely!  If you're a fan of the magical Harry Potter world, you no doubt have seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I recently shared a fun Fantastic Beasts Party on my blog, and today I'm sharing with you a fun and easy way to channel your inner Newt Scamander with this simple bow tie tutorial.

Newt wears a dark purple bow tie throughout the movie.  I made a few of his bow ties out of dark purple paper, and wanted to share how I made them with my Sizzix Big Shot.  These cute bow ties can be made in about 2 minutes.  So simple and easy!

You can also make these paper bow ties to decorate for Father's Day, a guy's party, a boy baby shower, or for whatever else you can dream up.

They also look great in pink other fun colors for a girl's party and decorations.

Other Materials Used:

  • Dark purple card stock
  • Glue gun

Step 1.
Make a sandwich with a cutting pad on the bottom, the bow tie die face up, purple paper on top of that, and then another cutting pad.  Run the whole stack through the machine to cut the bow tie pieces.

Step 2.
Take the bow piece and fold back and forth along the score lines.  Wrap the small piece around the bow and glue together on the back with the glue gun.

Step 3.
Hot glue the bow to the back piece.

Told you this bow tie tutorial was easy!

They also make great Fantastic Beasts party decorations, Newt Scamander approved!  You can see how I used them a few different ways in our Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Party. (To get more info on this movie, check out the Wikipedia page here.)

Happy crafting!
