Hey friends! Adrianne here with you today to show you an easy and fun to make card with some awesome new Tim Holtz dies from Sizzix!
What I love most about this design is that you don't need to haul out ALL your supplies to get great textures - plus, it's a really quick project! The new Sizzix Bigz Gadget Gears layer together for an industrial look, and the Sizzix Bigz XL Typo letter dies give you tons of options for distressed text effects!
Because the Sizzix Bigz dies can cut through paper, leather, and even some metals, you can get really creative on your Father's Day card. I'm using silver card stock from the Tim Holtz Metallic Collection to add some shine to this design, along with basic black and a muted floral pattern.
Here's a tip: if you're using specialty papers or materials, you can trim the pieces down and just place them over the letters you need, rather than rolling out a 6x12 piece of paper and not using most of it! Just be sure to place them face down over each letter.
You will need a pair of extended cutting pads for the alphabet dies, but the Bigz dies are so easy to use. Just place the die on one cutting pad, arrange your paper, foam, leather, or whatever you're using face down on the letters, and cover it with the other cutting pad to create your "Sizzix sandwich". Roll it through your Sizzix Big Shot for instantly perfect die cut pieces.
Then, just layer your gears and words on a card (I've used an A2 size here, 4.25 x 5.5 inches, which was a little small) and adhere your die cuts with your favorite paper glue. That's it! The different patterns, colors, and finishes of the papers make a statement without hauling out your inks or dyes (unless that's the look you love, of course!)
Thanks for joining me for today's quick Father's Day card and I'll see you guys again soon!
