Hi everyone! It's Jessica from Everyday Party Magazine here with an adorable Father's Day Tool Box for a little Sizzix Inspiration!
I used the new Sizzix Scoreboards XL Die Box, Toolbox from Eileen Hull to make these gift boxes! I REALLY wanted to find a diamond cut style silver paper, but I was unsuccessful in my hunt, so I settled on the corrugated silver I used on with the Travel Trailer recently.
These boxes are pretty quick to make, it takes longer for the glue gun to heat up than it does to cut and pre-assemble the box. I used hot glue because of the corrugated paper. You could use standard glue or a tape runner if you were using card stock to make your box.
Begin by plugging in your glue gun if you are using the corrugated (or other heavy weight) paper. Then, prepare your Sizzix Sandwich. Extended Cutting Pad, Sizzix Scoreboards XL Die Box, Toolbox, paper of choice, and second Extended Cutting Pad. Run it through the Sizzix Big Shot, and voila! You are half finished!
You can just barely see that I had already folded the scored lines for the box. Once the box is cut, fold it on the score lines, and then glue it together. It is literally that simple!
When I initially ordered this die, I knew I wanted to make it for Father's Day, but then, inspiration struck this weekend, and it was a perfect end of the year teacher gift card holder too!
One of the boys' teachers is very tech savvy so, she is getting an iTunes gift card and her favorite candies in the box.
Dad loves our family trips to Bass Pro Shoppes (almost as much as the kids and I do) in TN, so he is getting a Bass Pro gift card and some of his favorite candies.
Both tags can be downloaded from my blog, Everyday Party Magazine, for free.
I hope I have inspired you to make someone's day a little brighter, and given you the "tools" to recreate your own!
