Hello everyone, Catherine here on the blog today to some Sizzix inspiration for a fun and super easy project.

I don't know about you, but I always save the fortunes I get when we eat Chinese food. I've done it for years and I probably will do it for many more. I used to tape them to my planner or my computer monitor but then when it was time for a good cleaning or a new planner my fortunes ended up in the trash.

I have since started using them on journal pages and on cards sometimes, but I still have a TON left and feel a little bit guilty that I have these fun little bits of wisdom that I'm not sharing or doing anything with.

Today I thought I'd share a super cute little book that you can make to store some of your favorite fortunes in, if you collect them like I do.

Since today is Valentine's Day you could easily make this super cute little project to give to someone special in no time -- and by leaving some of the pages blank you can give them a place to store their favorite fortunes too!

The Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Die - Mini- Album (658982) die from Eileen Hull makes the perfect little album (about 5" x 5" when complete) and it's so easy to put together. I used the Little Sizzles Cream Mat Board Pack (656491) for the cover so it's super sturdy.

To secure the pages I created 3 signatures from some inexpensive watercolor paper and stitched them to the spine using wax thread and a simple binding. I used a 1/8" hole punch to punch pages in the album and the pages.

For the pages I can paint, stencil and decorate them however I please and attach my fortunes with a strong adhesive. I created the cover from 140 lb. Mixed Media Paper and stitched it right to the ScoreBoard Cover when it was dry. I love the colors, and the pink and orange really fit the Moroccan theme.

And I can let my personality shine with the cover decorations if I want. Since I was a bit pressed for time, I decided to keep it simple and let the fortune do the talking -- but it's a blank cover and ready for you to create a beautiful masterpiece as simple or elaborate as you want to get.

This was a super easy and fast little book that I can't wait to finish up with more fortunes, color and pretty designs! I can see many interesting and beautiful Mini-Albums from this die in my future!

Thanks for joining me today and HAPPY Valentine's Day!!

Hahahahaha, I'm so glad to know there is another fortune hoarder in the crowd. I have a TON too :) Your mini album is beautiful and I love the saying on the front. This is a great idea to put them in and then just flip through if you need a fortune for someone. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you for sharing this project using Eileen's mini album. I have been wondering what size it would make and now I know I need this die, it is going on my special wish list. Too bad the butterflies are sold out, I want those too. Love the colours you have used.
