Sizzix Tutorial | Hello Shadow Press Card by Aida Haron

Hello crafters, Aida here today with a Sizzix Tutorial featuring a Hello card that I made using a Alterations Shadow Press Debossing FolderThis is a new release by Sizzix and after this, I hope you will be inspired to create using these folders. The front of the card has a pocket envelope which is great for adding a little note, a photo or gift card.

We all love texture and layers and in this card I have added mediums like Gesso, paints and inks to make surface treatments interesting.

Main:02
To begin, I gathered white card stock for die cutting the shapes.

02

I almost always use white card stock when die-cutting as I love customizing colors on the projects. Above you see 3 flowers from the Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Jumbo Tattered Florals.

03

Next, I cut a strip of white card stock and debossed it with the Hello border folder from the Sizzix ShadowPress Debossing Folders 6PK - Authentic Set.

01

This is how the Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die - Pocket Envelope looks, which I used as a base.

04
For added texture, I embossed it with the Bubble Wrapping folder from the Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK - Bubble & Honeycomb Set.

05

The Tattered Florals were painted a soft blush pink, with the centers darker than the outside of the petals.

06

The pocket envelope was given a treatment of pale yellow paint, gold and white gesso. I love how the bumps showed up even more after that !

07

I wanted a sunny yellow for the debossed Hello and this was done by swiping Distress Stains Squeezed Lemonade over the word, taking care not to wet the card stock too much. Very light strokes of Distress Stain Wild Honey was used to edge the piece for definition.

08

These are the pieces before completing the assembly. I added an elegant button center to the tattered floral, a sparkly brad for the pocket envelope closure. An ephemera was layered on top of the envelope tied up with brown string.

Main:04

This is the finished card and, even though it's small, the details created by the easy layering of paper and paintwork make it very interesting. It would be a piece anyone would love to touch and hold !
Cards are wonderful to receive and handmade ones are the best. Thank you for spending time with me, happy cardmaking !
