Highlights From AFCI's 2018 Creativation!

Every year we look forward to going to AFCI's Creativation Show and this year was no different! It was an amazing 3 days full of creativity, classes, and FUN! We had a great time sharing on our Instagram and Facebook, but we couldn't share everything. If you didn't get a chance to go to Creativation this year, join us below to see some of our favorite moments!

Before we dive in, check out this booth tour with our creative director Jen Long !

We started Creativation with a BANG by sharing a little sneak peek of some of our soon to come products. From Tim Holtz's Side Orders to a brand new surface we call Thermo Plastic (which is that blue flower.) This fun area got a lot of buzz the day before the show opened and we couldn't wait to finally share all the new goodies we had been keeping hush-hush.

We made a ton of great memories during the 3 awesome days at Creativation but we also made...well...makes! Right after filming this awesome Facebook Live, our Creative Director, Jen Long, and wedding planner extraordinaire, David Tutera, gave us the rundown on David's collection of 3-D flowers (which are coming soon to sizzix.com.) This wire memory frame was a huge hit! We loved getting to see all the different ways you can use David's 3-D Large Dahlia and a few distress inks to accent a piece of home decor in your home, office or even craft room! And we have to admit...there's nothing more awesome than our designers offering hands-on help AND getting totally impressed with our makes. Best. Feeling. EVER.

Are you ready for some MORE sneak peeks? If you are subscribed to our blog or were checking it on our website the week leading up to Creativation, you might've seen us share a little peek of our newest collections, but once we were at the show we weren't holding back!

Here's a few, starting with Jen Long's Make Happy Happen Collection. We love the cute donuts, narwhals and of course BRAND NEW Fold-A-Long cards! Next up is a shot of Katelyn Lizardi's Let's Celebrate collection which features these gorgeous fans. Last but not least is Eileen Hull's book club chapter 2. That's right makers...there's MORE awesome planner dies coming your way, like this wrapped journal!

Our booth wouldn't be complete without our amazing quilting dies! This past year we've had SEW much fun creating with our latest addition to our Sizzix designer- Sew Sweetness. But that's not all the goodies we were sharing at Creativation. We absolutely gushed over Kid Giddy, Victoria Findlay Wolfe and Jennifer Jangles's brand new dies!

We always have a BLAST in Tim Holtz's section of our booth and this year was no different. On one side we were transported to a 1950's diner with all of Tim's side orders on the menu and on the other side, Tim and Rochele spent time demonstrating the COOLEST 3-D folders and Impresslits!

There was never a dull moment in our booth and that was especially true whenever Tim Holtz and Jen Long were together.

Watching Tim talk about Jen's Making Happy Happen collection was probably our favorite candid moments of the entire show and we couldn't stop smiling as this dynamic duo went on to talk about every section of our booth!

Last but not least, we were incredibly humbled when we were honored by AFCI with our very own award! We won the Spotlight Award and we couldn't be more proud! It takes a lot of careful planning, prepping, and of course-  making- to put a booth together and we couldn't have done it without all the amazing ladies and gentlemen we have the honor of working with. Special thanks go to Marty our booth making magician and our Creative Director Jen Long Designs and her team: Deena, Karen and Wendy.

Thank you so much for sharing in this journey with us makers! We hope you've enjoyed our recap. Let us know what your favorite part was in the comments below and if you want to see even more fun stuff, check out all our Facebook lives and behind-the-scenes photos over on our Instagram page.

Does Sizzix have any plans to come out with software for machine embroiderey? This has prevented me and others I know from purchasing more Sizzix dies, as the other brand has that function. In fact, if I had known that in advance, I would have purchased the other brand. O know several people that have said the same thing. We have a lot of money invested in our machines to not use them to their full capacity.
