Hugs Die Cut Card

Hi! It’s Jeanne Streiff on the blog today sharing a die cut and decorated embossed card.

Sizzix Die Cutting Tutorial Hugs Card by Jeanne Streiff

This card has more layers than I usually do but the die cut border was just too pretty not to showcase with some extra layers.

Hugs Card 2 Jeanne_Streiff

Fold and die cut dark pink cardstock with your 657900 Sizzix Big Shot Machine and 658358 Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Princess Dress & Deckled Cards, making sure your fold line is just below the cut line.

Hugs Card 3 Jeanne_Streiff

Cut a light pink and white card front. Trim sides and top on light pink panel to 1/4" smaller that card back. Trim white panel (sides and top) to 1/4" smaller than light pink panel. Sponge with brown ink.

Hugs Card 4 Jeanne_Streiff

Cut dark pink strip for card. Since the strip is larger than the embossing folder (658705 Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 2PK - Dotted Squares Set ), emboss one side first and then flip it around (lining up the pattern) and emboss the other side with your 657900 Sizzix Big Shot Machine. Sponge with brown ink.

Assemble as shown. Add a strip of lace and 658592 Sizzix Embellishments - Moroccan Chipboard Alphabet, 26 Pieces.

Hugs Card 6 Jeanne_Streiff

Die cut 2 white panels with your 657900 Sizzix Big Shot Machine and 658465 Sizzix Bigz Die w/Bonus Textured Impressions - Labels.

Hugs Card 7 Jeanne_Streiff

Emboss one of the white die cuts with the included Texture Impressions (658465 Sizzix Bigz Die w/Bonus Textured Impressions - Labels) folder.

Hugs Card 8 Jeanne_Streiff

Cut center from die cut with small scissors. Ink embossed areas in pink (I tapped lightly directly on the stamp pad) and add a dark pink border with a marker.

Hugs Card 9 Jeanne_Streiff

Attach the plain white die cut to the decorated one with foam tape.

Hugs Card 10 Jeanne_Streiff

Die cut three flowers (658358 Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Princess Dress & Deckled Cards) , sponge with brown ink add pearl center and assemble as shown.

Hugs Card 11 Jeanne_Streiff

Add flower to center of embossed panel and attach embossed panel to card.

Have a great day!

Jeanne
