Sizzix Inspiration | Fourth of July Treat Box by Laura Russell

Hi everyone!  It's Laura here from Make Life Lovely, and today I'm going to share some Sizzix Inspiration in the form of a fun patriotic Fourth of July treat box!  I am already counting down the days til the Fourth of July, and wanted to plan ahead to make some cute treat boxes for family and friends.  This box was so easy and quick to put together using Brenda Walton's Shadow Box Die!  I love that I can use bits and pieces of this die and adapt it to fit any holiday or occasion.Sizzix Die Cutting Inspiration | Fourth of July Treat Box by Laura Russell

First, I die cut some red and white striped paper that reminded me of the flag using the Shadow Box Die.  I folded the box along the score lines to assemble, and then glued the tabs.  I used a piece of clear packaging plastic from one of my Sizzix dies packaging to cut a rectangle just a bit larger than the rectangle opening in the box.  I glued the plastic to the inside of the box to form a clear window.

Next, I used the Brenda Walton Sizzlits Medallions die and my Big Shot to cut two small medallions, one with red paper and one with glittery blue paper.  Once the dies were cut I folded them accordion-style, glued the ends together, pressed the medallions down flat, and hot glued a small circle onto the back to form the medallion.  I glued my two medallions onto the bottom right hand side of the box.

I used the Brenda Walton Sizzlits Ampersands and Banner die to cut a banner out of white card stock.  I used some small blue glittery letter stickers to spell out "Happy 4th," and then glued the banner down onto the medallions on the box.  I cut out tiny red and blue stars from the new Life Made Simple Thinlits Stars die, and glued some of the stars across the top of the plastic window on the box.  I also glued a couple stars onto the medallions.

Last, but not least, I filled the box up with candy.  I love how easy it was to make this cute patriotic treat box with my Big Shot and Sizzix dies!  I can't wait to make more and pass them out to family and friends for the Fourth of July.

Happy crafting!

Laura
