Inspirational Beach Dwellings for Summer

Beauty Shot

Welcome to summer!  Nicole here with this summer inspired beach theme.  I had this idea to create a row of beach houses with the new Tim Holtz Village Brownstone die.  Check out these beach inspired dwellings.

2

I cut 3 Village Brownstone and one Village Dwelling with chipboard then layered with Coredinations Distress Paper.  I wanted the dwellings to have that worn windswept feel.

1

I love the new Village Bungalow die.  This is the perfect accessory die to create the dormers, shutters and the perfect fit fence.  With the Village Rooftops you can create the perfect rooftop to match your dwellings.

3

I layered the Village Rooftops with the shingle look in different colors.  It adds to the worn beach look.

4

I sanded and distressed all the houses “paint” façade.

5

I used distress paints to create a gradient ocean lapping into a sandy beach of UTEE powder, distress glitter, distress embossing powder and glossy accents.

6

I cut Tiny Tattered Floral shrubs.  The fake grass was picked up at my local dollar store.

7

I added the Village Dwelling in the mix.  I wanted this beat up rental tucked in between the brownstones.

8

Of course it needs a beat up “For Rent” sign staked out front.

9

I had to trim the rooftops to get them all to nest.

10

I love this broken down looking dwelling.

The possibilities for the Village Brownstone and Village Dwelling are endless.  These dwellings can fit into any season creating a dynamic project.

Thanks for popping by.  Have a wonderful creative summer.

Cheers

Nicole

I love the row houses. That is a great way to use the Village Brownstone and Village Dwelling dies. I will have to use that on some of my houses.

I've had a great time using the roof die as well. It really makes it easy to make a cool looking roof.

    Very inspiring. Thank you. Lucy
