Hello everyone! Genevive here once again! Any mini album lovers out there? :)
I love mini books sooo much! I have an addiction to it! And I have to admit, ready made blank mini books are overpriced, but I still buy them anyway! So when I saw Lori Whitlock's Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Essential Mini Album, I died and went to mini album heaven! lol!
I am also sharing with you how I used the two other dies super pretty dies by Lori Whitlock, Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - For the Birds and Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Mix & Match Flowers to decorate the mini album.
To make the album I started by die-cutting all the pages and shapes I needed. To do this, I layered a sandwich in this order: Sizzix Magnetic Platform + Sizzix standard Cutting Pad +paper + thinlits dies facing down + Cutting Pad. Rolled the sandwich through my Big Shot Plus machine and out came my die-cuts!
This is how I die-cut small shapes when I wanted these in different colors. It's also a fun way to use up those paper scraps! The sandwich is the same as the one I mentioned above.
Shapes and pages shapes all ready!
To bind the book, I aligned the holes, of the pages, spine, front and back cover pages and tied it with a ribbon. Now the book is ready to be embellished.
To achieve dimension, I used foam dots to layer the flowers.
"The Story" die-cut was originally white but I didn't like how it turned out when I took photos of my album, so I die-cut these again in black and just layered it on top of the white phrase. That's the advantage of having a Sizzix machine and die-cuts. It's okay to make mistakes! haha!
This is a close up of one of the inside pages. The pretty bird die-cut in gold, is from the For the birds die set.
And this flower right here is from the Mix and Match Flowers die set.
Here's the album once again...
Imagine a life with an unlimited mini album supply, plus you get to choose your own material, color, and you decide how many pages you wanna have? That's pretty much my life right now *wink* Thank you Sizzix! :)
