Hi everyone, Mou here today with a Sizzix Tutorial of a Matchbook Notebook.
To make this matchbook notebook, I used the some chipboard and metallic card stock with the Bigz L Matchbook Notebook and the Embosslits Crown #2 along with some additional items that are listed out for you at the end of this tutorial.
Now, let me walk you through the steps of making this mixed media matchbook notebook!
Cut a book page into strips and blocks and cover the die cut matchbook, front and back, using gel medium.
Once the gel medium is thoroughly dry, apply a thin coat of Gesso to the book paper covered matchbook.
Apply acrylic paints in your favorite colors to the front and back of the matchbook, card inserts, and reinforcement circle with palette knife.
Cut a 10 - 12" piece of string. Put the string behind the reinforcement circle and insert a brad through the hole of the flap side and open the prongs of the brad. Repeat on the other end without string.
Apply adhesive to assemble the matchbook pocket folding along the score lines.
Cut a piece of metallic card stock to fit inside the crown Embosslit folder and run it through the Big Shot Machine. Gently sand the crown medallion and rub Distress Ink pad to let the inks catch on the raised design. Flick some water to distress the crown cut a bit.
Attach the crown cut to the front flap of the matchbook pocket.
On the cards, attach words or phrases from book page and outline with pencil. Run a black marker along the edges of each piece to define the edges. Insert the cards into the pocket and tie it to close.
Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial and would give this fun Matchbook Notebook die your own creative touch.
