Hello Crafters ! It's Aida here back with another project you can quickly make for Mother's Day. This is a 7x9 flat-back canvas and I love how the Sharyn Sowell Rose Vines die-cut looks in this project. Combined with soft, elegant colors it makes a sweet gift that any mom will love.
The texture on the die-cut is created with Distress Crayons and Stickles rubbed in.
The intricate modern Rose Vines design by Sharyn Sowell is timeless.
To start, die cut 2 pieces from water color paper.
To use Thinlits on the Big Shot Plus, your sandwich from the bottom: the Plus Platform, the thicker Adapter A, one Cutting Pad, then the paper facing up, next the Thinlits facing down and lastly the other Cutting Pad. Send this through you Big Shot Plus.
Trim one of the die-cut out of its frame.
Paint both die-cuts with Gesso or a matte medium.
Next, let's work on the canvas base. This was painted a pretty lilac with hints of yellow and green.
The Gesso on the die-cuts acts as a base to help the Distress Crayons "move" when it's rubbed in. The colors used were Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Mustard Seed.
Adhere a piece of pattern paper under the die-cut.
I've used a piece of foam to lift the die-cut off the canvas, and the other piece without the frame was adhered to the right. I rubbed in more Glitter Stickles and adjusted the color on the canvas with the Distress Crayons.
Die-cut the word Mom with the Alphanumerics.
Finally, assemble the project by adding Idea-ology Small Talk sentiments, journal cards, buttons or decorative brads. Idea-ology Remnant Rub-ons were added at random places on the canvas to emphasise the message of family.
