Hey Makers! Michelle here with fun Patriotic Candy Cups for you! July 4th is one of my favorite holidays and I never tire of the beloved Red, White, and Blue, so I'm getting a head start on planning. We usually celebrate the 4th with a BBQ and a treat table for the kiddos so I made fun candy cups with star toppers. Not only are these bursting with patriotism, but they are perfect for little hands!
For this project you will need the Sizzix Big Shot, Extended Multipurpose Platform, Cutting Pads, Stacked Stars Bigz Die by Tim Holtz, Candy Cup Scoreboards Die by Eileen Hull, Stars Texture Fades embossing folder by Tim Holtz, Little Sizzles Mat Board, paper, adhesive, paper straws and candy.
Starting with the mat-board and paper, adhere the paper to the mat-board. Using the Candy Cup die create a sandwich. A sandwich for Scoreboards die is as follows: Cutting pad, die, mat-board with paper faced down and a second cutting pad. Next, pass the sandwich through the Big Shot.
With a hot glue gun, assemble the candy cup per the directions found here. Next using the Stacked Stars die, die cut several stars in coordinating paper. A sandwich for the Bigz die is as follows: Cutting pad, die, paper with printed faced down and a second cutting pad.
To add a little more detail to the stars, emboss them using the Stars Texture Fades embossing folders. To emboss, place the stars in between the embossing folder and sandwich the folder between two cutting pads. Pass the sandwich through the Big Shot using the multipurpose platform on tab 1
Next, stack and adhere the stars to a paper straw.
Next, fill the candy cups with your favorite red, white and blue candy, insert the Star topper and celebrate!
Thank you for visiting and Happy Crafting!
