Hi, it's Amy from During Quiet Time here with a quick sew holiday project!
Now, I wouldn't advise going out and buying the Rose Dream die just for this project. However, dies like the Rose Dream die are so often seen as "one use only" dies and I want to change that! Cut out 6 of the elliptical shape in a pumpkin orange print. Sew the pieces together one at a time pinning at the center notch. Don't worry about how neatly they are meeting at the top and bottom because we are going to hide those spots completely! Finally, sew the 6th piece to the 1st piece leaving an opening for stuffing.
Stuff the pincushion till it is nice and plump and handstitch the opening closed.
Next, cut some felt leaves using the Sizzix Bigz Arbor die. I used National Nonwovens felt. And cut one of the centers from the Tattered Poinsettia die. Collect some brown and black spare buttons of similar size. You'll need about 5 per stem.
With a few strands of green embroidery floss on your needle, start on the bottom of your pincushion and stitch through the Poinsettia center, to the top of the pincushion. Thread your leaves through the needle and a bit of measuring tape vine, if you'd like. Then string on 5 buttons. Take your needle and go back down through the buttons through to the bottom of the pincushion and knot.
The buttons make for cute stems.
These pincushions could just be used as seasonal decorations are are addictive! You'll find it hard to stop at just one.

The pumpkins are so very cute!! I love the button stems. These would look lovely on a fall table setting, or as place cards for your November Thanksgiving or in a floral arrangement. So many possibilities with these pumpkins. Thank you for sharing this inspiring project.
