Hello! Jeanne here today with a card sharing a colorful card using new dies from Tim Holtz.
It's always fun when you can use your dies in different ways. Today I'm going to show you how to use a die from 66227 Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 3PK - Mixed Media #4 as a stencil to make a unique background. I die cut cardstock using the recommended Sizzix die cutting sandwich for Thinlits and Framelits dies: Sizzix Magnetic Platform (or the Precision Base Plate for Thinlits Dies), Sizzix Cutting Pad, paper, die (cutting side down), Sizzix Cutting Pads. Run this sandwich through your Big Shot Machine. Don't forget your Sizzix Die Brush & Foam Pad for getting all those little paper bits from your dies.
I used a sponge and randomly sponged some ink onto my cardstock (Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick, Cracked Pistachio, Spiced Marmalade) . Then I laid down my homemade stencil and sponged color through the openings with more ink (Worn Lipstick, Cracked Pistachio).
Next I stamped my flower from 30937 Stampers Anonymous Cling Mount Stamps - Flower Jar on white cardstock (Ranger Distress Peeled Paint and Spiced Marmalade) and finished coloring with markers.
I used 662229 Sizzix Framelits Die Set 6PK - Stitched Circles to cut a frame around my flower.
To finish off my jar I added the twine die from 662270 Sizzix Framelits Die Set 16PK - Flower Jar. Sponge all the edges with brown ink (Vintage Photo) and assemble as shown above.
