Say "Thank You" With This DIY Card!

Hi everyone, Jeanne here. If you have kids, it is always handy to have teacher themed cards around. Today I'm going to show you how to make a fun thank you card using two die sets from Stephanie Barnard.

For some reason I saw a chalkboard as soon as I got this set of dies (Sizzix Framelits Die Set Card Front, Horizontal Drop-ins) so I ran with that idea and paired it with the super cute apple tree in the Sizzix Framelits Die Set Card, Tree Step-Ups die set from Stephanie Barnard. After I cut the brown piece I added some smudgy ink detail with brown ink to resemble wood.

I cut the chalkboard pieces I cut the Framelits Card Front, Horizontal Drop-ins Die Set Card from brown and black using the recommended Sizzix die cutting sandwich for Thinlits and Framelits dies: Sizzix Magnetic Platform (or the Precision Base Plate for Thinlits Dies), Sizzix Cutting Pad, paper, die (cutting side down), Sizzix Cutting Pads. Run this sandwich through your Big Shot machine.

Next I start cutting my cute apple tree from Sizzix Framelits Die Set Card, Tree Step-Ups to tie into the teacher theme. The tree was cut from brown cardstock with some brown ink smudged on. The green part of the tree was made the same way by adding a little darker green ink to green cardstock. I made the larger one a little darker than the other since the two pieces will be layered.

What's an apple tree without a few apples?

I assembled my tree and added it to my "chalkboard". It's coming together!

I cut my thank you phase from Sizzix Framelits Die Set Card Front, Horizontal Drop-ins  in white to look like chalk. Don't forget to use your Sizzix Die Brush & Foam Pad to get all the paper bits out of your dies.

And here is the completed panel! I placed it onto a A2 sized red card. Hope you enjoyed this project!
