Hello Crafters, it's Aida from Life and Paper Crafting! If I were to ask who loves Butterflies, the number would be ginormous, there are so many of us who are avid users of this die-cut shape and design. There are endless ways to use this design in a variety of styles as you will see in the posts here. For myself, the gorgeous shapes in the Flutter Thinlits and the coordinating Stampers Anonymous stamp set were hands down a gorgeous combination not to be missed. I've created this wedding keepsake of paper on canvas that would look wonderful as a display for the special day.
Titles are tricky things, one which I have to think about all the time in my projects. It helps tremendously to have a set of Alphanumeric Thinlits die set with 121 alphabets to make words you like. The alphabets were die-cut using Bronze foil paper and the satin ribbon matched to it.
In the little gaps between the butterflies and moths, I filled them in with tiny flowers using Eileen Hull's adorable Stitchy Flowers and Leaf Thinlits.
The Flutter shapes were heat embossed using my all time favorite powder Liquid Platinum by Ranger. I LOVE that it's neutral, in between Silver and Gold, yet with enough *ooomph !* to give that elegant sheen.
You have to agree the Butterflies and Moths look so beautiful embossed. A tip I'd like to share is - use heavy weight watercolor paper as the shapes will look and feel more luxurious. Fill in the centers of the shapes with color brush-pens, then a light wash of clean water for a softer effect.
The color palette is a pale yellow with hints of lilac, the lightest blue and peach.
I hope this keepsake make has inspired you to use the Flutter Thinlits and matching stamps. Just imagine all the design possibilities you can create - from elegant to textured layers to edgy grunge. Happy crafting !
