Recently, a little friend of mine celebrated her 4th birthday. Like most girls that age, this little friend loves all things girly and pink, so for her gift wrap, I put together a super sweet and feminine gift tag that matches her vivacious girly-girl personality. Love that I was able to customize this tag to perfect suit her. It's so easy when you do it yourself with Sizzix dies.
One of my all-time favorite dies is the Sizzix Movers & Shapers L Die Tag & Bookplates die by Tim Holtz. It's a great size for all kinds of tag projects, and is the starting point for my tag today. To begin, I die cut the tag two times; once from red cardstock and once from a pretty pink patterned paper, using the following Sizzix die cutting sandwich: Standard Cutting Pad, die (cutting side up), paper, Standard Cutting Pad.
After I die cut the tag from the patterned paper, I die cut that tag a second time using the new Sizzix Thinlits Mixed Media die set. When used with the Sizzix Magnetic Platform, you have the ability to position the Mixed Media Thinlits die exactly where you wish to cut on the tag, making it so easy to add detail, like this pretty lattice cut work here. When die cutting with Thinlits or Framelits using this Sizzix die cutting sandwich: Sizzix Magnetic Platform, Standard Cutting Pad, paper, die (cutting side down), Standard Cutting Pad.
I layered the two tags together, and stitched around the edging to hold everything in place. Final detail was to add a stamped sentiment and a few pretty cream colored hearts, die cut using the new Sizzix Bigz Heartfelt die. I added the largest heart on pop dots for a bit of dimension, and personalized it with a big red number 4 using a die cut from the new Sizzix Thinlits Alphanumeric die set. Such an easy way to customize a gift tag for any recipient.
