Hi there! Michelle here with a little Mother's Day Sizzix Inspiration! Last time I shared the Cutlery Pockets I made for an upcoming Mother's Day brunch and today I'm sharing a fun treat bag! When I think about Mother's Day, I always think of lace and flowers. Maybe because it reminds me of my Mom, she loves pink flowers, lace doilies and Jelly Belly jelly beans. So I decided to create some treat bags filled with her favorite candy using the latest Lori Whitlock dies.
For this project you will need the Sizzix Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Precision Base Plate, Cutting Pads, Extended Multipurpose Platform, Quilted Diamonds Textured Impressions by Lori Whitlock, Treat Bag Topper Thinlits Set by Lori Whitlock, and the Sizzix Bigz L Banner die by Lori Whitlock. You will also need adhesive, jewel embellishments, card-stock, cello treat bag and jelly beans.
To start, you will need to create a sandwich with starting with the Magnetic Platform, Precision Base Plate, card-stock, Treat Bag Topper Thinlits and a Cutting Pad. Next, pass the sandwich through the Big Shot.
Once you have die cut the treat topper, add dimension with the Quilting Diamonds embossing folder. Place the die cut in the embossing folder and create sandwich by using tab 1 on the Multipurpose Platform, a Cutting Pad, the embossing folder and a second cutting pad. Next, pass the sandwich through the Big Shot.
The Treat Bag Topper die set includes several phrases and flowers. For this project, using the sandwich method described above with the Precision Plate and a cutting pad, die cut the words "Thank You", treat bag topper frame and all the flowers and leaves included in the set. Next, layer and adhere the flowers, frame and words to the treat topper and add a jewel embellishment in the center of the flowers.
Then using the Banner Sizzix Bigz L die and two cutting pads, die cut the banner in coordinating card stock. The sandwich for the Bigz die is a cutting pad, the Bigz die and a second Cutting Pad.
Next, attach the treat bag topper to the top of the candy filled bag and the banner with hot glue or your favorite adhesive.
I used a self sealing cello bag and attached it upside down so the candy could be removed from the bottom, keeping the topper intact.
And that's it, a fun candy filled treat bag for your Mother's Day party, picnic or brunch!
Thank you for visiting! Happy Crafting!
