Hi there! Michelle here from Michelle's Party Plan-It sharing a little Halloween Sizzix Inspiration! I absolutely love everything about Halloween! The weather, the colors and the spooky decorations, just to name a few! I have been going crafting crazy over all the wonderful new Halloween and Fall themed dies from Sizzix. The new Tim Holtz Pumpkin Parts Bigz Die is so much fun that I chose to make a Pumpkin Parts Halloween Card to share with you all.
To start, I added some texture to a plain orange card by embossing it with the Bats & Owl Embossing Folder and lightly rubbing an ink pad over the design. The ink really brings out the bats and adds a fun vintage look, don't you think? To use Textured Impressions in your Big Shot machine, insert your paper inside of the folder and close it. On top of your Multipurpose Platform which you will want to have open to Tab 2 place a cutting pad, then the embossing folder and your second cutting pad. Roll that sandwich through your machine. Using the papers from the 6x6 An Eerie Tale Paper Pad from Graphic 45 and the Pumpkin Parts Bigz Die, I die cut the pumpkin. To save time, I stacked three coordinating papers (right side down) on top of the die and sandwiched them between a cutting pad and a Crease Pad and ran the sandwich through the Big Shot. Next, I inked the edges of each piece with an ink pad to continue the vintage look. I assembled the pumpkin and used 3d foam dots to add dimension and adhered it to the center of the card. I cut some borders from the Wicked Whimsey papers, also from the Graphic 45 An Eerie Tale collection, and inked the edges. Then lastly I adhered them to the top and bottom of the card.
Since every card needs a matching envelope, I embossed the envelope with the Bat Embossing Folder as well. To emboss the large envelope, I placed one side of the envelope in the embossing folder between two standard cutting pads and using tab 1 on the Multipurpose Platform passed it through the big shot. Because of it's size, I had to run it through the big shot two times. For the finishing touch, I adhered more cut outs from the Wicked Whimsey paper for added detail.
Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
