Hello crafters, welcome back! It's Aida here and today I have a Sizzix Inspiration Thankful project which you can make for your home, as a gift or use the idea for a card. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and this would be quick project to make for the occasion. The finished sized for this piece is 7 inches in height and 6 inches at the top.
The word Thankful was die cut in gold foil using the Alterations Alphanumeric Thinlits that has an amazing 125 pieces of alphabets, numbers and symbols in the pack. This is where the Magnetic Platform is essential as it will help you die cut faster and efficiently!
I love how the Jumbo Tattered Pinecone can be used to create tea roses. They were inked with Distress Ink Spun Sugar and after rolling them, the tips were edged with Distress Paint Mustard Seed. PDF instructions on how to roll the Pinecones are on Sizzix.com here.
The roses sit on a base die cut with the Cameo Frame. It was painted with Distress Paints Mustard Seed. Wild Honey and Antique Linen, then stamped with a Hero Arts background stamp in white ink and heat embossed using clear embossing powder. In the next step, Distress Paint Antiqued Bronze was rubbed in, and wiped away with a dry towel to make the embossing pop. I added a fussy-cut patterned paper frame from Kaiser Kraft.
Here you can see how I cut the Cameo Frame 1/3 of the way and popped it up with foam squares to make the piece more interesting. The Roses, Mini Flourish and Fir Branches were adhered on the frame after that.
I hope this idea will inspire you to create a piece of your own, have fun, and Happy Thanksgiving !
