Hello, hello! Anna Wight here with a Sizzix Tutorial for you! Today I’m sharing an outdoor adventure themed mini journal I made using the Mini Album Bigz XL die and the Adventure paper collection from Authentique.
What a fun combination of products this turned out to be! Let me show you how I put this fun project together. And by the way, if you'd like to see the journal in a bit more detail, I've included a video at the end of this blog post where you can enjoy a tour through the journal with me.
I started by die cutting the cover from medium weight chipboard. I also die cut two sheets of "scenic" from the Adventure collection so I could cover both sides of the chipboard cover. Next, I adhered the designer paper to the chipboard cover and inked the edges. You'll notice I chose to make the spine of the cover blue for a bit of contrast.
I also adhered the "blaze" 12 x 12" sheets from the Adventure collection to the inside of the chipboard cover, and adhered a Ring Binder in place.
You can see that the Ring Binder fits perfectly on the spine of this album!
The cover is embellished with a few of the cut apart images of the "details" and "enhancements" sheets from that same collection, as well as a few strands of hemp twine. I used a cool wood button from my stash as the front closure, using more hemp twine to hold the journal gently closed.
I created all of the pages for my journal using card stock, and embellished them with bits and pieces of the Adventure paper line.
I decorated each page with a variety of stamped images or by clipping images from the paper collection to the pages using mini paper clips. There is nothing too complicated about this journal, which makes it extra fun to put together!
I created a pocket on the inside of the back cover and tucked a few additional pages into the pocket. The cut aparts included in the Adventure paper collection worked out perfectly for this journal size!
I absolutely love the fresh colors! This was such a fun, cheerful project to make!
I hope my journal has provided you with a bit of inspiration for creating a cute little camping themed journal of your own to capture some of your campy summer activities!
In addition to snapping photos for you, I also made a quick video where I share the products used, as well as a flip-through of the journal. If you’d like to see the journal in more detail, please enjoy this video!
Thanks so much for joining me today!
