Hi there! It's Laura here with a simple Sizzix tutorial for a cute canning jar gift tag. This week I'm really excited to make homemade jam with some family members. To get ready for all of the jars of jam, I made some fun canning jar gift tags to add to those jars that I decide to give away!
To make the tags, I used the ScoreBoards Canning Jars die.
I made a Sizzix sandwich starting with a Extended Cutting Pad, the canning jar die (cutting side facing up), white Little Sizzles Mat Board, and the other Extended Cutting Pad, and then rolled the stack through my Sizzix Big Shot.
Then I made the same sandwich to cut a piece of turquoise paper with white polka dots in the small canning jar shape, and glued that over the top of the mat board canning jar.
Next I cut a small piece of aluminum foil with scissors, and then ran the foil through the Big Shot over the small canning jar lid using the same sandwich I made before. This gave me a really cool metallic foil lid that looked like it belonged on top of my jar. I glued the metal lid onto the mat board lid, and glued the lid to the top of the jar.
To make the jar more interesting, I found a clear plastic oval that I knew would look great on the jar. I used clear glue to adhere a piece of white card stock to the clear oval, then cut around the oval with scissors once the glue was dry. Then I glued the oval to the front of the canning jar gift tag.
I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a small hole into the top left corner of the canning jar lid, and then strung the tag through the drawstring of a cute canvas bag that will be just perfect for holding homemade jam inside!
Now that I've got the canning jar tags and bags ready, I just need to add the homemade jam. ;)
I can't wait to give these sweet gifts to friends and family!
