Sizzix Tutorial | Holiday Candy Gift Boxes by Melissa Fallon

Hey there! Melissa here for today's Sizzix Tutorial with an easy holiday packaging idea that will get you thinking about the holiday season. I realize it's not even Halloween yet, but a little planning ahead never hurt anyone, right? Pair Stephanie Barnard's Triplit Gift Dies with a Pillow Bigz Die to make gift giving a breeze this year!

To start off, I used the Pillow Bigz Die to cut out the candy envelope.

To cut, I used the following Sizzix sandwich (from bottom to top): A cutting pad, the die with the cutting side up, the construction paper and then a crease pad.

Once cut, I folded down the side, top, and bottom tabs and adhered the side tab together to create the box.

To create the gift embellishments, I created a sandwich of the Magnetic Platform, a Standard Cutting Pad, the Gift Triplits Die, wax paper, colored construction paper, and then another cutting pad on top. Oh how I love how the Magnetic Platform makes using Thinlits so much easier!

Because of the intricacy of Thinlits, placing wax paper between the Thinlits Die and your material really helps them pop out easier. I repeated the same steps with different colors of paper to create the layering effect.

Once you layer your gifts, attach each one to the top of the pillow box, fill with candy, and you have yourself a quick holiday treat pouch!

I love these Gift Triplits because they can be used for almost any occasion! Just change out the color of paper, and you can use them for Birthdays, Holidays, or any gift-giving occasion.
