Sizzix Tutorial | Thank You Card by Michelle Stewart

Hi there! Michelle here from Michelle's Party Plan-It with a fun Army Party Thank You Card Sizzix Tutorial!

We recently celebrated my youngest son's 5th birthday with an Army themed party, and it was a blast! Like most of my parties, I used Sizzix machines and dies from start to finish, from the decor to the party stationery, including these fun thank you cards.  (Visit my blog for tutorials on my Fabric Garland and Army Treat Boxes.)

For these Thank You Cards, I used the Sizzix Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Standard Cutting Pads,  Sizzix Thinlits Die Set  3" x 4" Cards #3 by Lori Whitlock and Sizzix Thinlits Die Set Alphanumeric (1" Tall) by Tim Holtz. I also used adhesive, card stock, scissors, a photo of my son as well as a card sentiment that I printed.

To start, using the large arrow Thinlits from the 3" x 4" Cards #3 set,  I created a sandwich with the Magnetic Platform.  A sandwich consists of the magnetic platform, a cutting pad, card stock, Thinlits and a second cutting pad. Then I passed it through the Big Shot.

Next, using the die cut as a template, I cut a plain panel by hand. I then cut a second plain panel of yellow card stock and glued it to the back of the arrow die cut to resemble soldier stripes. I then glued the edges of the front panel to the back panel to create a "pocket".

Next, using the magnetic platform and the Alphanumeric Thinlits, I created a sandwich as described above, and passed it through the Big Shot.

Next, I glued the letters on the front of the pocket and trimmed my printed card to fit.

Lastly, I trimmed my son's photo to fit and inserted both cards in the pocket.  Aren't those grenade cake pops amazing? Samantha of The New York Cakepopery made them for our party.

And that's it! A unique custom thank you card for our friends and family!

I hope you will stop by my blog to see more details from "Liam's Boot Camp"!

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
