Hi everyone, Mou here with today's Sizzix tutorial and it's an Smile Card using some of the newest dies and embossing folders by Tim Holtz! Let me walk you through the steps of making this card.

Start by die cutting the Silhouette Bird. For this, make a Sizzix sandwich: lay patterned paper on the blade side of the Sizzix Bigz Silhouette Bird die. Place the stack between two mint colored Standard Cutting Pads. Run the sandwich through the Sizzix Big Shot Machine to die cut the Bird.

To die cut the sentiment on the Bird, create another Sizzix sandwich. On the Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies, lay a Standard Cutting Pad. Lay the Bird on the Standard Cutting Pad. Place the Thinlits die Smile from the Friendship Block Words Sizzix Thinlits cutting side down on the Bird. Cover with the other Standard Cutting Pad. Run the sandwich through the Sizzix Big Shot Machine.

Now, on to some dry embossing... cut white cardstock to fit inside the Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folder Tiles. Place the paper inside the folder and place the folder between a pair of Standard Cutting Pads. Place this Sizzix sandwich on the embossing surface, i.e. tab # 1 of the Extended Multipurpose Platform and run it through the Big Shot Machine.

Cut a block from the embossed paper and attach it under the Bird with adhesive so it shows through the die-cut sentiment Smile.

To create this 5.5" x 5.5" card, fold 5.5" x 11" kraft cardstock in half. Attach slightly smaller patterned paper to the base. Machine stitch around the card.

Attach an ephemera card toward the right of the card.
