Elegant Glitter Snowflake Card for Christmas!

Hello crafters! I’m Aida from Life and Paper Crafting back with another Christmas card tutorial featuring a festive cardmaking die from Jen Long’s Holiday Blessings collection. This is a gorgeous, detailed seasonal die that you’ll want to use this year.

Just look at the intricate design—it’s so beautiful!

Instructions:

To begin, I trimmed the cardstock to 12" x 5" and folded it to fit the main card base for the Thinlits Fold-a-Long set. Make sure the fold is sharply creased as this will give you a cleaner cut. Line the die to the folded edge (use washi tape to prevent it from moving) and roll through your Big Shot. The die is so well engineered that the center of the Fold-a-Long card comes out clean with score lines in place.

Quick Tip: Use lighter cardstock for easier cuts.

Score along the lines on the paper. This is how the card looks after you’ve scored the flaps.

Thinner cardstock tends to be less sturdy, meaning another layer of paper is needed to give the card more body. Place patterned paper halfway into the die (as shown in the photo above) and use washi tape to hold it in place. You’ll need two pieces of die-cuts from this patterned paper.

Stick down the patterned paper to the White cardstock base as shown above.

This is how the front of the card looks now.

Die-cut a Circle shape with the Circle die from the Snowflake Fold-a-Long Set.

Die-cut the sentiment and punch out a smaller vellum circle. Adhere the sentiment on the vellum and place in the center of your card. Decorate with tiny snowflake die-cuts and squeeze tiny dots of Ranger Liquid Pearls to the centers. Wait till dry and slide the decorated circle into the anchor points on the card base.

Die-cut two pieces of the Snowflake shape using silver glitter cardstock.

Adhere to the front of the card.

Punch out a 3/4" circle, adhere a white ribbon bow to the center, and top with a pearl button. And that’s it! Your card is ready to be mailed.

Perhaps this card will inspire you to start your Christmas crafting. There are many more new ideas from the Sizzix designers and Art Room studio, so make sure you check them out!

Keep creating,

Aida, Life and Paper Crafting
